Colorado School of Mines invites applications for a part-time position as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Computer Science (CS) to teach introductory classes in C++ programming and Linux OS. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Holding office hours as required
  • Collecting assessment data with regards to student work and educational outcomes of the course
  • Grading written exams
  • Teach a section of CSCI 101 (Introduction to Computer Science), CSCI 261 (Programming Concepts), or CSCI 274 (Introduction to Linux OS).  OR lead a lab section of CSCI 262 (Data Structures)

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or closely related fields. Professional and/or academic experience and accomplishments are preferred. We are looking for a superb teacher who inspires students. Applicants must demonstrate, or show evidence of, excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills. We expect candidates to commit their time for an entire semester from January 8th, 2018 – May 15th, 2018. 

Located in Golden, CO in the foothills of the Rockies, 13 miles west of Denver, Mines educates 5,400 students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in engineering and science.
