Associate Director of Financial Aid, Systems

Job Description: The Associate Director of Financial Aid, Systems is a member of the Enrollment Management team and plays a key role in the operations of the Financial Aid Office. This position will help to provide systems support to the office including report writing, maintenance and Banner upgrades. This position will also assist the Director of Financial Aid in survey completion, federal and state report completion, compliance monitoring, beginning and end of the term processing and be the acting director when the Director is absent.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director with overall administration of Mines' financial aid programs and with survey and report completion
  • Serve as the liaison between the Financial Aid Office and Campus Computing which includes sitting on campus committees to support these functions
  • Serve as the lead for Cognos report writing and maintenance, as well as functional lead for Banner set-up, upgrades and patches
  • Serve as functional lead for financial aid system set-up, troubleshooting system issues as well as scheduling and testing system upgrades and patches
  • Update financial aid website as needed
Minimum Qualifications:

Required are a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution of higher education with direct progressive financial aid experience in combination with demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage complex and varying tasks. The successful applicant must possess knowledge of financial aid program regulations. A strong background with financial aid systems is essential.  Must be detail oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.  Candidate should possess a strong customer service background and the ability to interact with parents, students, staff and faculty in a positive manner.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Banner computing systems and processes
  • Experience with Cognos or similar report writing tool
  • Master's degree
