Position Title: University Counselor, Part Time
Job Description:

Support the mental health and well-being of the Mines student body through the provision of high quality clinical services, consultation and education.

  • Maintain an individual clinical caseload of students on a daily basis in order to assist with developmental issues or more severe psychological concerns.
  • As appropriate, refer students to local mental health providers or other community resources based on clinical judgment within the center’s scope of care.
  • Provide appropriate electronic clinical documentation in accordance with professional ethical and department standards.
  • Provide consultation to parents, faculty and staff as needed to assist with understanding of students’ psychological needs, treatment and disposition planning.
  • Consult, collaborate and serve as a resource to key departments in the Student Life and Academic divisions on campus. 
  • Provide alternate service platforms to students with regard to mental health issues or specific program topics targeting certain populations. 
  • Utilize technological platforms to provide psychoeducational and support services.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in the area of psychology, counseling or social work.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Colorado.
  • Demonstrated significant and progressive experience in the mental health field with a background in clinical assessment, counseling and crisis intervention.
  • Evidence of interest and experience working with diverse identities and needs.
  • Specialty skills in realm of substance abuse, group treatment, men’s issues, or other relevant areas prevalent in a college population. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some background in higher-education, psychoeducational service delivery, consultation and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
