Position Title: International Admissions and Marketing Coordinator
Job Description:

Under supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and with regular collaboration and communication with the International Office including International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), Education Abroad (EA), and Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions colleagues, the International Admissions Coordinator is responsible for supporting all aspects of international undergraduate and graduate admissions operations and programs.   This includes maintaining student data in multiple application and enrollment systems including, but not limited to Terra Dotta, Slate, and Banner, communicating with prospective students, recruitment, enrollment, counseling, understanding course offerings in all Mines academic departments as well as the overall structure of the University, and related processes and activities.   This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining marketing materials and websites for international undergraduate and graduate degree seeking and exchange students. 


International Admissions

  • Review and evaluate international undergraduate application documents, including G.P.A. conversions for domestic and international transcripts; prepare materials for Admissions review and determine appropriate admissions decision.
  • Evaluate transcripts to determine transferability of coursework following institutional guidelines and best practice.
  • Serve as the lead contact for prospective students and manage admission decisions and enrollment communications to and from prospective students, sponsors, parents, and partners.
  • Work with Education Abroad partners to ensure timely application processing.
  • Collaborate with campus colleagues, including but not limited to Registrar, International Student and Scholar Services, Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, on international student initiatives including but not limited to recruitment, admission, orientation and enrollment.
  • Coordinate closely with International Student and Scholar Services to ensure all documentation is in place for new degree-seeking student arrivals.  Assist with new international student orientation, International Day, International Education Week, and other outreach activities and events

Marketing and Recruitment 

  • Collaborate with International Student and Scholar Services to create and update marketing materials for international undergraduate and graduate degree seeking students and non-degree exchange students.
  • Develop and maintain content for websites and social media accounts specific to international student recruitment and enrollment at Mines.
  • Collaborate with Graduate Admissions and academic department colleagues to develop and coordinate dual-degree marketing and recruitment.
  • Serve as lead coordinator of an annual international recruitment scholarship committee  (e.g., Maytag and other scholarships)
  • Support excellent working relationship with exchange partners by coordinating web-based materials for nominations/applications, deadlines and pertinent Mines information in collaboration with Education Abroad colleagues.
  • In collaboration with Education Abroad, help maintain exchange application in SLATE.
  • Develop and maintain communication plans specific to the unique informational needs of international students.

General Recruitment, Admission and Enrollment 

  • The International Admissions and Marketing Coordinator will represent Mines at scheduled college day/night programs/events throughout Colorado. Travel outside the state may be necessary.
  • The Coordinator will routinely meet with prospective students and their families (both freshman, transfer and graduate) as part of the Admissions Office on-campus advising sessions, individual counseling sessions and group information sessions for domestic and international prospective students.  
  • The position will represent Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions at outreach programs and represent Mines through involvement with professional or community organizations specific to International students, such as Study Colorado or the regional NAFSA organization that promote a similar mission to that of Mines
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in International Admissions/Recruiting/Advising or related experience in student services at a secondary or post-secondary institution.
  • Experience analyzing international documents (i.e. transcripts, degree certificates, etc.).
  • Experience developing and maintaining websites and social media.
  • Ability to secure a passport (possible future international travel)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Must possess excellent oral, written, and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Ability to complete assignments independently and meet changing deadlines
  • Knowledge of a second language
  • Knowledge or experience with Banner, Terra Dotta system, Slate CRM, online application systems, and/or online portfolio submission systems.
  • Experience in AACRAO Edge transcript evaluation software.
