Position Title: Temporary Administrator
Job Description: The position of Temporary Administrator will be responsible for various accounting related functions in the Office of Research Administration (ORA). This temporary member of the Post-Award Team serves as a resource to faculty and administrators in the financial administration of sponsored research awards.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, review, reconcile and approve subrecipient invoices, financial reports and cost share. Ensure subrecipients are complying with financial requirements of their agreement and the prime sponsor.
  • Manage invoicing, receivables, and accounting for all Mines’ consortia. This includes reconciling revenue, expenses and balance sheet activity, tracking outstanding invoices, monitoring collection activity and perform accounting functions such as deferred revenue calculations.
  • Assist Post Award/Finance Manager in monthly reconciling, tracking, monitoring and calculation of cost-sharing/matching funds reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Baccalaureate degree in business, accounting, finance or the equivalent in experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and the ability to use and navigate complex databases and enterprise systems
  • Excellent customer service skills and success working effectively in a diverse community
Department Description: The Office of Research Administration's (ORA) mission is to provide administrative and business support to faculty engaged in the research enterprise. ORA assists with proposal preparation contract and grant negotiation and acceptance, expense monitoring, financial reporting, billing and accounts receivable and financial closeout of a research project. ORA also provides training to faculty and staff, initiates and implements policies and procedures, serves as a liaison with project sponsors and ensures compliance with federal, state and School rules, regulations and policies.
