Position Title: Program Assistant I, Civil and Environmental Engineer
Residency Requirement: Applicants must be a Colorado resident.
Job Description:

Financial responsibilities include:

Reconciliation of accounts, reallocation of procurement card purchases, application of daily expenditures to corresponding budgets, preparing journal entries, payroll reallocations and budget transfer requests to be processed at the controllers office. Position analyzes historical expenditure data, may track and assist in the management of budgets such as TA, adjunct, etc., and generates information for financial reporting.

Administrative responsibilities include:

Provides broad administrative support to the department that may include assisting with student inquiries and requests, managing administrative aspects of faculty promotion and tenure, course scheduling and logistics, etc.

Other duties include:

Report writing; managing accounting associated with department research activity; managing administrative aspects of departmental hiring programs; managing overseeing,  and supervising student employees; serving as a resource for department public relations; coordinating conference room and laboratory access as well as office space and building access; assisting in fundraising activities and managing departmental web presence.

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of experience in an administrative or office management role which includes bookkeeping/accounting, spreadsheet creation/maintenance, and word processing. Must be highly organized and detail-oriented. Heavy interaction with faculty, staff and students requires this position to possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with people of diverse backgrounds. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be highly skilled at multi-tasking.

Substitutions:

College, university or non-correspondence business school course work may substitute on a year for year basis for the general clerical or administrative services experience but not for the specific experience. YOU MUST PROVIDE AN UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS SUBSTITUTION.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have performed administrative work in an academic department at an institution of higher education. Also desired is Cognos and Banner experience and prior experience providing administrative  support  to  a  manager/director  level  position.  Experience in  technical writing, editing, desktop publishing and web content management with some social media savvy is preferred.

Salary Range: $4,012-$4,836 monthly
