Position Title: Head Cheer Coach
Pay Range: 

$12.31 - $36.49 per hour

The Opportunity:

Provides leadership to develop and maintain a high-quality cheerleading program that promotes school spirit at the Colorado School of Mines. The head coach will support all participating students with developing their skills, teamwork, and promoting a fun environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the cheer program
  • Plans, organizes, advertises, and conducts tryouts while maintaining the integrity of the selection process
  • Assesses skills and assigns team positions
  • Provides supervision and safety to the athletes at all times
  • Creates and environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of the students
  • Reports student discipline problems and other related concerns
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of cheerleading coaching experience
  • USA Cheer Waiver
  • Concussion Acknowledgement
  • Identifying the Maltreatment of Children (every 2 years)
  • Youth Safety & Risk Management Certification (every 4 years) AND/OR
    • Modified version of the USA Cheer Safety & Risk Management Certification geared towards coaching young athletes 
    • Available under Take a Course in the USA Cheer Member Home
  • USA Cheer Safety & Risk Management Certification (every 4 years)
    • Available under Take a Course in the USA Cheer Member Home
  • First Choice Background Screening (every 2 years)
    • Must use the link provided under Take a Course in the USA Cheer Member Home
    • Results can take up to 10 business days to receive once submitted to First Choice
