Position Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow - Geophysics and the Colorado Geological Survey - InSAR & Ground Deformation Studies
Job Description:

The Colorado School of Mines Department of Geophysics and the Colorado Geological Survey invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in InSAR and ground deformation studies.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will consist in the processing and analysis of multi-temporal InSAR and ground-based data for monitoring of faults, landslides, rockfall and other natural and anthropogenic deformations in Colorado. The position may involve field work in mountainous areas of Colorado in difficult conditions. All candidates applying for this position should be motivated to work in an interdisciplinary framework.

Minimum Qualifications:

We seek an outstanding individual holding a PhD in geophysics or a related discipline. The candidate should have strong mathematical/numerical skills with extensive experience in the use of DInSAR, InSAR time series, numerical modelling, and/or inversion. Experience with other remote sensing techniques and/or integrating space-borne datasets with GNSS observation would be a plus. Excellent programming skills in Python, Matlab or equivalent languages are required. The candidate is expected to work independently and to collaborate on projects within Colorado requiring initiative, strong organizational and communication skills, and respect for project deadlines.

Terms of Employment: The successful candidate will be offered a 1 year full-time post-doc position, with possible extension. The position involves a competitive salary package with associated benefits. The start date is negotiable, starting as soon as 1 April 2020.
