Position Title: Graduate Intern - Office of New Student and Transition Services
Job Description:
  • Assist with student staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and supervising, which includes Lead Peer Mentors, Peer Mentor Lead Liaisons, Launch Leaders, and Peer Mentors
  • Plan and facilitate student staff meetings and LEAD team and Peer Mentor retreat with emphasis on teambuilding
  • Manage and create social media content throughout academic year 
  • Help Assistant Director with spring orientation and Launch orientation planning and execution 
  • Create Oredigger Camp training, communication content, and reservation details
  • Help with needed office administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be enrolled in a graduate program for Student Affairs/Higher Education Administration or related field of study
  • Have an interest in Orientation/New Student Programs as a functional area within student affairs and possess a commitment to personal/professional development.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Have experience and/or interest in programming, planning events, peer education, and/or working with special student populations and work autonomously on projects.
  • Be prepared to work non-traditional hours during orientation programming.
  • Be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have experience working with college or university students in an administrative role and will have work leader experience. Application must clearly detail these qualifications. (Part-time experience will be pro-rated).
