This position is responsible for working with many different entities (Student Life, Faculty, Staff, President's Office, private vendors, etc.) to ensure customer needs are being met regarding event set ups and moves. Assist the grounds crew to ensure that expectations for campus grounds maintenance and landscape services are being met or exceeded within budget and safety requirements; by providing on-going maintenance, landscaping, recycling, and snow removal of all grounds areas on campus; to include tasks such as the application of pesticides, as needed and maintenance of the landscape beds, shrubs, ornamentals, flowers and other similar horticultural areas around campus. Duties include: Set-up, tear-down, and secure rooms in a timely manner as scheduled and diagrammed. This includes tables, chairs, audio equipment, fencing, recycle and trash containers, bleachers, scoreboards, stages, and dance floors, etc. Provide technical and skilled labor for the maintenance of campus grounds, buildings, athletic fields, and student residences and grounds equipment. Accomplish tasks (i.e. trash and ash urn servicing, planting, mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and clean up of existing campus turf, landscape areas, and athletic fields) based on services identified in an annual calendar and/or results from monthly property inspections. Move office, conference room, or classroom furniture such as desks, chairs, cabinets, easels, bookcases, etc. within rooms and/or across campus and between buildings. Move furniture or other office/classroom items in support of the set-up and takedown activities for campus meetings, classroom activities, public events, or conferences. May load/unload supplies/shipments received using a forklift or manual lifting. Pick up trash and may perform light cleaning duties of the rooms, offices, or conference areas.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Knowledge of local turfs, shrubs, ground cover, and seasonal color, including growth characteristics and maintenance techniques.
* General knowledge in operating a variety of equipment and tools.
* Experience using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
